Nimh can be charged and discharged thousands of times without deteriorating over time. No need to worry about memory effect with Nimh. With Manufacturers its hard to tell whats going. Consumers are gonna be hard pressed to find a portable electronic battery made here in the USA. 99% of all the batteries for these Gizmo and Gadgets are made over seas. Now that doesn’t mean you can’t get a quality product. However its hard to know what you are buying, and sometimes may feel like a crap shoot. Your best bet is to purchase the battery from a retailer who stands behind the product they sell.

Does this retailer stand behind their product? What will this battery cost me? These simple steps will help your battery buying experience, and will make sure you get the right battery for your needs.

Lithium batteries offer a huge advantage over Alkaline batteries. Its not even a fair playing field when comparing Lithium batteries to alkaline batteries. Lithium batteries offer more voltage over a longer time frame hands down. A Lithium battery will last up to 8 times longer in a digital camera compared to a alkaline battery.

In 2006 Oxyride came flying out of the chute to compete with Alkalines, and to say the least they do exactly that. They last greater than twice as long as your  standard alkaline in a digital camera or other high drain device, and around 1.5 times as long as high drain alkalines like Energizer e2. Guess what, they are price competitive with Alkalines as well. The only down fall to Oxyride is that they can not be recharged. However with that being said, they are a very good disposal battery and out perform Alkalines hands down.

Oxyride batteries put out 1.7 volts versus Alkaline batteries at 1.5 volts, while rechargeable batteries put out a considerably lower 1.2 volts. But don’t be fooled, higher voltage doesn’t always mean a better battery. Voltage isn’t the same thing as capacity. Voltage is how “strong” the force is, not how long that force lasts. The higher voltage received from Oxyride battery is not a issue to your electronics. Oxyride  batteries are just what the doctor ordered for a disposable battery that fits your budget in your high drain device.
