Buying a battery for your portable device can be very confusing. More times than not consumers are unaware of the differences between the different batteries available. Comparing apples to apples is very important in the battery world. Consumers get so caught up in comparing the price that they don’t understand the different types of batteries. When I say apples to apples, I’m referring to the exact same battery in size, chemistry, manufacturer and milliampere-hour (MAH). The size generally speaking is correct, however the consumer don’t thoroughly understand the chemistry and Mah side of the equation. The old saying that all batteries are created equal couldn’t be further from the truth.Battery technology has come so far over the last decade alone to squash those beliefs. We here at BestBatteryTips.com want to provide some insight to consumers on purchasing the right battery for their portable electronic device.

One of the first steps to purchasing a battery is knowing what your battery model number is. The model number on a battery represents everything about that exact battery. The battery model number tells us what electronic device the battery will fit in, MAH capacity, and chemistry. You will find that while shopping online some battery websites have cross-reference search engines for battery model numbers to take you right to the battery you are needing. Once you find the replacement battery you may have several selection options. Two of the primary selections will be MAH and Chemistry. You can always go with more MAH, it will allow your electronic device to last longer on a charge. However, you will have to pay for more available power. Depending on whether your comfortable with your existing MAH will depend on if you want to upgrade or not. Chemistry is also a very important consideration. Generally speaking I would stay away from any Nicad chemistry batteries if at all possible. These batteries suffer greatly from the so called memory effect. Nicad batteries as compared to Nickel Metal Hydride and Lithium Ion, don’t have the capacity of their superiors. When we talk about purchasing a battery for your power tool, its difficult to buy anything but Nicad. There is some new power tools out there using Lithium Ion technology, but it seems Nicad is in most. Lithium Ion also called Li-ion is what consumers are most familiar with. They are in most phones, cameras, watches, and camcorders. They don’t suffer from memory effect and also have a excellent available capacity. When purchasing a new battery, you can’t go wrong with Lithium Ion. Nickel Metal Hydride also known as Nimh, is also a excellent choice. Nimh can be charged and discharged thousands of times without deteriorating over time. No need to worry about memory effect with Nimh. With Manufacturers its hard to tell whats going. Consumers are gonna be hard pressed to find a portable electronic battery made here in the USA. 99% of all the batteries for these Gizmo and Gadgets are made over seas. Now that doesn’t mean you can’t get a quality product. However its hard to know what you are buying, and sometimes may feel like a crap shoot. Your best bet is to purchase the battery from a retailer who stands behind the product they sell.

So when we speak of comparing apples to apples, be sure to look over the batteries stat sheet. What chemistry am I looking at? How much MAH does this battery offer? Does this retailer stand behind their product? What will this battery cost me? These simple steps will help your battery buying experience, and will make sure you get the right battery for your needs.

Just about every household has a cordless phone these days. The ability to roam around the house and essentially have a phone in any room you need as a result of having a cordless phone. Many consumers don’t understand why their battery in their cordless phone may not last very long. We here at BestBatteryTips.com have the best cordless Phone battery tips to help consumers get the most out of their cordless phone battery.

Following Manufacturers instructions on fully charging the battery. Manufacturers require the battery be fully charged before using the cordless phone. Nicad batteries for instance suffer from memory effect, and will be greatly affected by not following the manufacturers instructions of fully charging them. Charging the battery for the first time only for 10 minutes or so will cause the battery to think it is fully charged when its only 40 to 50% charged. The duration of battery life is altered right out of the gate. Charge the battery fully, it does not pay to cheat on this rule.

Do not put the phone back in its charging cradle. Conditioning cordless phone batteries is very important as well. A battery requires 4 to 5 full charge and discharge cycles. A good rule of thumb is to only put the cordless phone in its charging cradle when its dead and no sooner. This will allow you to get the most cordless phone battery life possible.

Use the correct replacement battery. The same rules above apply when purchasing a replacement battery for your cordless phone. Be sure to purchase a battery designed for the cordless phone you have with the manufacturers recommended size. Altering the batteries specifications will affect the performance of the cordless phone from which it was designed.

Keep the cordless phone away from direct sunlight. Many households have their cordless phone cradle in a window seal, where it is subject to direct sunlight. A batteries worst enemy is heat, and hot temperatures will decrease your batteries performance over time.

Make sure battery contacts remain clean and free of corrosion. Be sure to clean your battery contacts inside your phone, and on the cordless phone charging cradle. You can accomplish this with a Q-Tip and some vinegar and lemon juice mixed in water.

We here at BestbatteryTips.com frequently receive questions on how to extend the battery life on the Blackberry Phone. We have collected data from our readers on how to get the most battery life out of your Blackberry phone.

Setting E-mail filters is a excellent way to extend the battery life of a Blackberry phone. Every time unwanted e-mails come through it requires power, especially if you have your profile set to vibrate. You will notice a considerable improvement in your battery life with this battery tip.

Turning off the wireless when in poor coverage areas for extended periods of time will save precious battery life. The Blackberry is no different than any other cell phone, it will continue to search for a signal and drain the battery in the process.

Setting the power Auto Off/On during non peak times will increase your Blackberry battery life as well. Lets face it, you probably don’t need your phone on at 3 in morning. Setting some time parameters will dramatically increase your battery life.

Ring Profiles is a large power drain on any cell phone, and the Blackberry is no different. Setting your ring profile to loud and vibrate simultaneously is sure to drain your Blackberry battery. Understand there is times that you must use vibrate for privacy reasons, or to obey rules at certain places. We are simply stating that the vibrate function is a large power drain if not required.

Adjusting your back light lighting is another way of extending the Blackberry battery. Don’t need it so bright? Then turn it down, and benefit in extended battery life. Back light screen time out will also help conserve battery life. Ever notice the screen staying lit for several seconds or minutes after your done? Adjusting the time the screen stays on after functions is easy to adjust.

Turn Blue-tooth off if not in use. Just like the cell signal, Blue-tooth will be searching for a device to connect to. All of the these types of options made to make your life easier can rob you of battery life when not in use.

Playing games on any device requires a vast amount of power. Playing less games or not at all will really take your Blackberry battery the distance.

E-mail querying requires more power, the more frequently you have your phone set to do so. Is it required to E-mail query every minute or can you go every 5 minutes? You be the judge on that one. Any application that forces your phone to push even when your not using it, is requiring more battery power.

Wireless sync applications that are not in use need to be turned off as well.

Is your Iphone battery life not as good as you expected? Tired of your Iphone battery dying at the most inopportune times? We here at BestbatteryTips.com have some great Iphone Battery Tips to help your Iphone battery go the distance

Always make sure you have the latest and greatest update from apple. Apple puts out software updates, that will contain battery life improvements. So next time your Iphone ask you if you want to update your software, be sure to allow it to download the update.

Ever laid out in the sun at the pool or beach in the summer months? Never leave your Iphone in direct sunlight, the high temperatures severely decrease battery life. Batteries do not like heat, it is their worst enemy. Best thing is not to have the Iphone with you, but we know you gotta have it. Put a towel or piece of clothing over the phone to avoid these extreme temperatures. According to Apple the Iphone should be kept in a temperature zone from 32 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit.

When you finish talking on the Iphone, checking e-mail, texting, taking pictures, videos, listening to music, or whatever else you may be doing, ever notice how long the screen stays lit after your done? This Iphone battery tip will increase your battery life dramatically. When your done with the Iphone lock it, this forces the screen to be shut off. On the top right of the Iphone is a button across from your headset jack. This is the lock button that will put your phone to sleep, and also keep you from accidentally making phone calls by accident.

Another great way of extending the battery life of the Iphone is turning off Push Notifications. Applications like Words with Friends for example send push notifications to alert you that it is your turn in the game. Also Apple application updates can be turned off as well. Applications such as maps drain battery life and should only be used when needed.

Your equalizer for listening to music on your Iphone requires more power to run. This option may be important to the user, but remember it adds to the drain of the battery. We are simply making you aware of Iphone drains that might not be required for the user of the Iphone.

Ever been some where and can’t get a signal for extended periods of time? In these situations you will want to turn on the airplane mode. This keeps the Iphone from trying to capture a signal, and not allowing it to tower jump.

Turning off WI-FI mode when not using it will increase your battery life. Ever had your phone pop up wireless networks while your in town moving around? That’s because it is searching for networks if the WI-FI mode is turned on. Turning this feature off will increase battery life dramatically.

A simple feature that can be adjusted to improve Iphone battery life is adjusting the brightness of your screen. The brighter you have it, the more juice that is required.

If you rarely use Blue-tooth or never us it, be sure to turn it off. Just like the WI-FI it will always be looking for a device, and requiring more juice to accomplish that.

The E-mail program on the Iphone retrieves mail according to the setting that you have set it to. The more it pushes to retrieve mail, once again the more power that is required. We understand here at BestBatteryTips.com that you may not want to lower the pushes on your mail, but are just informing you as to the processes that affect battery life on the Iphone.
